Addressing thousands of participants, including domestic entrepreneurs, international investors, and innovation leaders, the Prime Minister emphasized Vietnam’s strategic role not only within Southeast Asia but also on the global tech stage. The event, themed “Nationwide Innovation and Entrepreneurship – The New Growth Engine”, showcased the country’s drive to foster a vibrant startup ecosystem.
1. Strategic Policies to Boost Innovation and Talent
Vietnam’s leadership highlighted an ongoing wave of policy reforms, institutional support, and targeted programmes designed to catalyze innovation, attract skilled professionals, and support early-stage ventures. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to elevate science, technology, and digital transformation as core drivers of national economic growth.
Underlining this ambition, the government has advanced a series of Politburo resolutions identifying tech, innovation, and digital transformation as key national priorities. This policy direction is supported by action programmes aimed at improving the startup ecosystem, expanding digital infrastructure, and creating a more open and dynamic environment for technology businesses.
The Prime Minister also noted that, despite rapid progress, Vietnam’s innovation ecosystem still lags some regional peers due to a later start and called for continued improvements in institutional mechanisms and policy frameworks.
2. TechFest Vietnam: A Platform for Global Collaboration
TechFest Vietnam 2025, Vietnam’s largest innovation and startup festival to date, drew participation from more than 60,000 attendees, including corporations, venture capital funds, incubators, and delegates from Asia, Europe, and North America.
The festival serves as a key platform where innovators, investors, researchers, and policymakers converge to showcase breakthroughs, exchange ideas, and forge strategic partnerships. The event included exhibitions featuring AI, IoT, robotics, and emerging tech, alongside dialogues on investment trends and talent development.
Organizers also emphasized the role of such festivals in connecting Vietnam’s burgeoning startup ecosystem with international resources, a crucial step toward realizing the country’s ambition of becoming a destination of choice for global tech talent and innovation.
3. Future Outlook: Building a Global Tech and Talent Hub
Looking ahead, Vietnam aims not just to grow domestically but to integrate deeply into regional and global innovation networks. By expanding digital transformation initiatives, improving regulatory frameworks, and fostering talent development, the country is positioning itself as a magnet for global tech professionals, investors, and entrepreneurial talent.
Vietnam’s inclusive approach, which combines government leadership, academic collaboration, and private sector dynamism, underscores a long-term vision to transform the nation into a significant technology and startup hub in Asia and beyond.
